Default Psycho gauges...

Heres the problem:

I'm going down the highway ~70, (parking/fogs on, since its almost dark) and I tap the brakes...at which point the speedometer needle freezes for a split second, check gauge light comes on, and the rest of the dashlights flicker all at the same time.

What the hells up with that? At slow speeds like 30ish, the lights just flicker, the needle doesnt do anything.

Help?

Not sure if it is the same thing, but a while back ago during heavy acceleration or decelaration my lights would flicker and gauges would freak out. Found out that my battery cables that run in the same loom were chafing and causing a temporary short. We replaced the wires and ran them in seperate looms.

How old is your battery? It may be using most of your alternator's output at low rpms under high electrical demands ie, stereo, lights etc. Have your battery checked (free at autozone) as well as your alternator. But first make sure all your electrical connections are clean and secure.

Same thing happened to my friend's LT1... alternator was on its way out, when he hit it the car fell on its face, lights went apeshit, and check gages light came on. Swapped and solved. That may/may not be it, good luck.

i'd say check the battery connections, and then the alternator. if the diodes arn't converting the AC to DC correctly, it's probably the problem.
