Default Gurgling?

I have noticed a couple times after turning car off from a drive in hot weather there is a gurgle noise like water boiling.Nothing on the groung, maybe coolant returining to radiator from coolant overflow?Going to Trans Am Nationals in a couple of weeks and don't want a breakdown.Anybody hear this type of thing?

well...could be a few things

1.) flish your coolant. God knows how old your coolant is, it may me stock coolant for all you know and has long since turned into vinegar. my coolant has that slight skunk smell to it. i'm flushing mine this saturday.

2.) after you flush your coolant, add some redline water wetter to it or some other additive for lowering your coolant temperature. it's good for lowering your coolant temps some 7 degrees or so. i got mine for like $7 at napa. it's not redline brand but it gets the job done.

3.) hope it's nothing involving a bad head gasket.

There's probaly some air trapped in the cooling system. When you flush and refill your coolant, if you have the front of the car higher, say on jack stands or ramps, it should get all of the air out. This was a big problem with my last car.
