Need some pointers for recharging A/C
I'v looked in the service manual about recharging the a/c compressor. Says to add freon untill the temperature from the vents get in the 40-45 degree zone. Right now its at 53 degrees before adding freon, I doubt it will take the whole 12oz can of it. I'v never done this before, I only have a regular hose kit for this that doesn't have a guage. How much time should I go between adding freon and checking the temperature, and does the valve where it hooks up to the low pressure pipe fitting close off the freon flow when I unhook it?

According to the AC performance chart in my '01 helms 53* is within limits. Charge (pressure) depends on the ambient air temp and humidity also. For example:
86-95* ambient, 30%+ humidity = 42-46 psi, maximum left center discharge air temp = 68*F.
You really need a gauge, don't want to overcharge it.

OK, yours is different. Is this what you're look at? This is for a '95 http://shbox.com/1/ac_performance_chart.jpg
