Automatic headlights
How do I turn the auto headlights off on my Z-28? It's been a while since I've fooled around with it so I can't remember for nothing, thanks

you cant without one of the following, a:by the led on the dash there you pull that out and put a resistor on the light sensor, or b:pull the far left a/c vent out and then take the 2 screws out that hold the light bezel in and then cut the orangish/reddish wire and then you can just turn them over to right if you want them on. or you can go c: like me, and cut the wire and put a switch on it so itll be auto, then at the track i can flip the swith and cut them off...

Oh hell I thought there was a way to do it other than that, thanks for telling me. I'll have to work on that this coming weekend then, I like the automatic headlights but it would be nice to turn them off from time to time and just burn the fog lights.

I've really enjoyed mine after I did the change. The auto-headlight thing was a novelty for a while, but it's better in my book to have manual switching.
It was easy as can be, and only took a few minutes. It can be undone just as quickly.
Good luck.

I had a Trans Am once, a 1998 Ram Air Vert and yes it was nice but my 98 Z-28 is just as nice and has less crap to break down. The TA's left side headlight motor went out not even two weeks after I brought it home from the dealership then the convertable top leaked and soaked the floorboard at work so they had to install new weatherstripping, etc..... All the Z-28 needed was a service and a few odd ball things.
They are both great cars, and yes the WS6 T/A's look wicked but my Z-28 does the job for me.

I know man, I guess it's part of owning a car like this.. Things are going to break and cost money. Thank goodness I don't own a Ford though...

Auto headlights suck. I ditched mine within hours of owning the car. DRLs suck also. I like to be in control of my own lighting. Call me crazy, call me a control freak; I don't care.

I went last night and got one of those splice clip things to splice the wires together without cutting them so tonight I'll have manual headlights again! I'm eventually going to install a switch to turn it to manual lights. Thanks for the help
