There are overlaps in the acceptable viscosity levels for each standard. Just so happens that the German Castrol 0-30 is thicker at low temperatures than Mobil Syn 10-30. That is, the mobil is on the low side (thin) of the 10-30 spec, while the Castrol is on the high side of the 0-30 spec.
It is my opinion that both oils are perfectly acceptable, but I do believe the German Castrol to be a higher grade oil. If it is available to you, then it's pretty good advice to use it instead of Mobil synth.
Some people also recommend running a thicker oil should you live in a very hot area like Arizona or what have you, others also recommend running an extra quart.
So, as you see there are many opinions. In the end I think Mobil synth is just fine, but run the German Castrol if you can get it. I would recommend this until such time that either product changes - there are occasional reformulations that may make a difference.
As it stands right now the German Castrol clearly aligns with a couple BMW and Porsche specifications that the Mobil product either doesn't - or they just didn't bother to certify against. If those designations change in the future that's when I'd look back into it.
