Default Any interest in tracking Amsoil oil analysis reports?

Just had my new 408 installed in my car a week ago and at 500 miles I plan on changing the oil to Amsoil 10-30 and using their oil filters.

I will also be doing an oil analysis each time a change the oil.

I wanted to get an idea if there would be any interest in me posting each of these reports as I do an oil change.

Yes go for it. As I mentioned in the other thread this will be a good view of how an engine breaks in as far as wear metals.

I did the same thing from the start in 2002, makes a nice little maintenance history trail.

it's your $20 per analysis, I won't mind seeing the trend in a few years if I can remember that you did it.
But I think you are wasting your money, on both the analysis and amsoil.
the wear numbers are not conclusive, they only help with maintaining a guideline for servicing. About the only useful thing from an analysis is fuel dilution which will let you know if your tune is excessively rich, but for the same amount of money you can just change your oil. I had a trend of 5 or more reports on my 02 ss using various oils from 2002 to around 2006. fwiw i now use delvac 15w40.

It's cool to look at UOA but Amsoil turns good reports consistantly. The highest iron reading I've seen from Amsoil was 125PPM over a 25K run which is still under the 150PPM upper limit.
