Bad gas mileage after flooding car
Last week I drove through a large puddle and killed my car. I have a cold air kit and an underside ram air scoop so I sucked up a good amount of water. After a few minutes, I got my car started. It spit, sputtered, and ran on a few cylinders, then came back around to normal after a few seconds. The service engine light never came on.
When I shut my car off, it sat for a few hours. It took a lot of continuous cranking before it would start again, due to the wet distributor. The next morning, again, it took a bunch of continuous cranking to start it and it misfired for a few seconds, but smoothed out. It has started up and ran fine since then, due to the distributor finally drying out.
Since this has happened, it seems that my gas mileage has gone down. Could it be related? My fuel injectors have been clicking louder since this happened too. <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />
