Default Post cam install

Yesterday, a few friends and I installed a 210/220 .512/.512 112 LSA cam and a set of pacesetter headers into my 3.8. Last night, it ran fine...no issues or cutting out. However today, from driving from campus, to jiffy lube, to vatozone, then back on campus (a total of about 45 minutes of driving), the car shut off a grand total of 5 times whenever i would put it in neutral and roll...like, when coming up to a stop or making a turn onto another road.
Also, every once in a while, it'll make a knocking noise when sitting in idle...sorta feels like someone's tapping the firewall w/ drumsticks. In addition to the tapping noise in idle, the few times i turned it off, the tapping would increase in tempo and noise as the engine was shutting off. It started doing this after I had gotten the oil change. I still have about half a tank of 87 in it from when it had the stock cam

Tips/suggestions?

If it is actually detonation you could try some octane booster. You don't usually get detonation at idle though. You sure it's not a misfire? Maybe one of the spark plugs is loose or broken, or a plug cable came off.

Don't know much about the 3.8, but the stalling I would guess is a tunning issue. the 112 lsa is also tight for an auto.

^Not an auto, M5. Also, a friend w/ HPTuners added 100 to the idle, but my tach still says it normally idles at 700ish

Taintedmeat, I know the loom around the #3 wire is melted...I'm gonna invest in some universal wires that are long enough so that i could route the wires around the headers. Any suggestions for brand?

I'll probably buy a set of MSD wires next time I buy some. I have Taylors now, but I've read about some issues with them falling apart when you go to pull them off the plug after a while.

You're getting cam surge coupled with an exhaust leak. Still on stock valvesprings? Might have busted one as well. Most definatly an exhaust leak is involved.
