a/c question
a/c question my a/c compresser does nothing when i turn on the a/c , everything works right , the fan blows and all but the compresser dosent kick on or anything , does this mean the compresser is bad ? ive heard the compresser wont come on if the freon is low , is this right , any recommendations or advice would be great .
The compressor will not engage if freon is too low. You can just go buy a can of R134 with a gage and refill it, but thats just a bandaid. The old refrigerant is gone because of a leak. Best thing to do is by the equipment to do it your self, or take it to a shop
I had this happen on my Firebird a while back. I tried everything but it turned out the compressor was bad and just needed to be replaced. I changed it out, filled it with freon and worked perfectly
