M1 0W40 is still a very good oil for the LS1. Might not have the longevity of the GC 0W30, but it's a great second choice.
M1 5W40 is out of the question for me, just like GC 0W30. Can't get either locally, and I'm not about to order oil on-line.

There is no such thing as "regular Mobil 1." It's either "Mobil", which is either conventional/blend, or it is "Mobil 1", which is synthetic. I think alot of people get confused on this.
I'm curious what the rating is for the 15,000 mile and if the 0-40 actually is a changed formula. I'll be using Amsoil on my next change anyhow though.
