At this point we're pretty frustrated. We've replaced the pump and the reservior. It has all new o-rings and seals. It seems to be leaking where the steering column goes into the rack. Can this seal be replaced or do we have to get a whole new rack.

you mind posting a pic of the seal your talking about?....like i stated in the other thread...if you dont plug the lines and flush the system right the rack will collect the crap from the pump, causing internal problems in the rack...

Update. We replaced the rack and it was leaking from there but now it is still leaking from the pump/reservoir area. We checked the lines and everything is ok. The pump is new as well as the reservior. We are really baffled. Any insight?? BTW we have pulled this new pump off 3 times now to check the seal.

hi mechelle ,i was going to take my 1998 firebird to work and the power steering started to make a noise. looked under the hood and fluid was running out,did you get yours fixed if so what did you have to do ? i have a sport metallic gold bird . i did a couple of the SKYLINE DRIVE cruises a couple of years ago.
