When I changed mine the fluid I used said LSD additive wasn't necessary and included, but put a bottle in anyway just to be sure. I put the 4oz additive in, then filled it.

The additive is for Auburn clutch style diffs.

Some people report that it tends to quiet down noisey torsen gear style diffs (what you should have unless your car is modified), but you shouldn't need it.

Regardless it won't hurt anything so use it if it will make you feel better.

I have an Auburn diff in my car, but put it in because even my '01 owners manual said to use it with a complete drain and refill.
