Hatch doesn't always open first time i hit the button?

Hatch doesn't always open first time i hit the button? Well when i first get into my car and i hit the hatch button it pops it but when i get out to try to open it it wont open all the way. So i hit the button again and then finally it will open. This is like everytime so what can i do is there something wrond with a vacuum line or something?

Just go down to your local hardware store and buy a C-141 spring. It's 5/8" X 1-1/2". Pull back the lining around the latch and piggy-back this spring onto the factory one. You will probably have to tweak the hook on the spring a little to get it on there. Fixed!
edit: This works on an '02 Camaro. I think the 'bird is the same.
