Most likely the window motor, will it go up a little at a time after a few minutes? Sometimes they can just die though.

Try to get some pliers on them and pull it up while someone pushes the up button. If this works yet is sluggish motor culprit. Whatever you do make sure to lock the regulator gear (your going to need a drill for much of this) on the changeout.

Windows down are a problem if you have bad weather, bums, teenagers ect ect. If those factors are present you need a window pronto. This is a pretty PITA project. Look for a local mechanic to do it. DEALERS rape and pillage. If times on your side and you got a indoor garage, then shop for a new one online (sry I am new and not sure of the policy here with refers to webdealers, but there are alot of places that will have this)

It's not hard to replace yourself, get one with a lifetime warranty locally. I used http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html

Hell man DO NOT EVER DO THIS! Never put a pair of pliers on your glass and pull it up. You will break the glass for sure,I have seen it a thousand times. If you dont have a clue what your talking about I suggest you dont come on here a give people bad advice. If the motor is locked up no amount of force will get the window up that is just wrong. The motor is just bad you need to replace it and you can do it yourself it is not hard to do. I would suggest getting the motor at your local parts store and then follow the directions on here the are very good..

Just had my motor go out on my driver side. I got a window motor for like 15 on ebay with lifetime warranty and took me about hour and half to replace. The window motor works perfect.
Good advice on the pliers, couldn't get mine to go up either.

Well away dude, I was able to get mine up with no problem that way at least for that night. So it seems it is possible.

I have been in the autoglass business for 15 years and I get that issue all the time. People think they can pull up on the glass with pliers and it breaks all the time. Maybe you were just lucky..
