my car does the same noise at around 1000-1500 rmps......ill try to get a vid sometime this wk just to see if its the same noise every one on here is having.

interesting, seems 01's do this. Definately try to get a vid up, i'd like to see if it is the same sound.

Thats really weird cause I changed out my gc quick cause it was too loud and now im on 5w40 amsoil seems to be a lil quiter and getting and more quiet like you said.

Yeh it does seem like all 01's do it is there somethin different about our valve train? On cold starts under 40 degree mine is louder but I think I might have a bit of piston slap I dont know I need to hear it again I rarely ever drive the car lol.

Here is a cold start vid of mine but it was prob 50 degrees that day so it wasnt that cold. Sry about the quality.
