Default What kind of shop will replace window motors?

I would like to know what kind of shop will replace the window motors on my car. I will need to replace both motors soon and dont know where to go. I will not go to the dealership because they will ask for too much money.
And can you guys give me a ballpark figure on how much it will cost?

PS......I would love to save the money and do it myself but i dont have access to any tools.

Any autoshop can do it. (Independent mechanics). It would be 1-1.5 per door. Most likely 1 hr per door. What ever the shop rate is probably $45-$65. So $90-$130 plus parts which will be over $200 just a guess. Simple hand tools and you can do it your self.

I just accomplished it this weekend. 2 hours.

You need:
1 Drill
2 drill bits (not sure what the size, I think 1/2 inch to drill through fiberglass then 5/32 for the rivets.
slotted or philips head screw driver and rachet with matching thingy. Actually, you'll need both types of screw drivers (for the door panels)

oh yea, and a little bit of luck and patience.

The dealer over near me wanted $400 plus parts.
The shop that did my mods wanted three hours labor @ $75/hour plsu the part.

Autozone was $55+ shipping. And two hours and some fiberglass in my hands and voila! It worked first try!

Do it yourself, you'll be more proud than even, like I was Friday!

I'll see if i can get my hands on some tools. It always feels good to do it yourself. I will also check around and see if i can find a shop that is reasonable

autoglass shop will charge 50.00 per door on average for the labor. Dont go to an automotive shop and waste the money on their high *** labor rates...

Body shop did the one on my first TA. It was before I found this forum, or I would have done it myself. It is incredible what you can do with a little help from the forum. Save the bucks and go for it.
