Damn TPS

Keep getting a P0123 code and the car has been idling high and the wifey and I were out last night when the car would idle high and while in motion rev up to around 3 grand. Looked at the tps and didnt see any spliced or bad wires, so I replaced it with a new one. The code came back. Cleared it, and once I started it up again, it came back.

Any ideas.

IAC motor? Got another one you could swap it with (friends car maybe, or an extra TB laying around)?

I could, but would that bring up a TPS code? I keep getting the exact same code as before.

did you clean the throttle body out? I don't know but since the TPS switch is on there? Possible there's some type of vacuum leak that could cause a TPS error? Let me look in my trans am manuals and see what it says if anything for this. I'll try to get back to you on this - if no one else has.

Have you done the "bump stop" mod? Did you have any other codes with the TPS code? Do you have access to a scan tool? Disconnect the grey wire and measure the voltage, should be 5 volts with ignition on.

I have access to my own scanner yes. Wifey commented on high idle and the car felt like it didnt know when to shift while driving. I pulled the code and it was P0123(only code) which is a TPS circuit high input. I replaced the tps with a new one. The exact same code(only code) comes on still. So I am thinking its in the wiring yet I didnt see any tears, breaks or such.

I havent cleaned the Throttle body, havent done a bump stop mod or anything. I will test the wire tomorrow.
