Oil on Rear Bumper
Here lately, I've noticed some oil blowing back onto the rear bumper from under the car. I first thought it might be the front & rear seals leaking, but I got under the car this weekend & ruled that out. And it's not from the rear-end, nor the transmission. It looks like it's coming from somewhere around the distributor area. It's not a whole lot leaking, but I need to get it resolved. Any ideas where it could be coming from around that area, or anyone experienced anything similar?

That would have to be ALOT of oil dripping out to get allll the way onto the back bumper. When my motor blew in my 91, I got oil on the back of my bumper lol Thats a whole nother story though.
Off Topic: I've been trying to think of a paint job for my car, and I have the same hood style you do. I think that's a sweet looking job. Now that I'll get my car painted anytime soon, but I might have to borrow that! That or the Anniversary stripe kit. Which is easier than paint since it's sticker heh

The trans is more likely, but even still, the back bumper is quite a ways back there. You'd have to be driving really fast (60+) and have whatever is leaking, leak quite a bunch of fluid at that moment. Because even when my motor blew, a lot of it stuck to the undercarriage. The smoking-oil is what built up behind the car and got all over the bumper. Even then it wasn't dripping off, just a film.

it's motor oil. The opti is covered in oil, so I'm leaning towards the timing chain cover gasket possibly. If the weather clears up here, I'll get back underneath it, clean it up, and maybe be able to tell where it's coming from.

I had that problem on my old camaro. I thought it was just unburnt oil coming out of the exhaust from leaky rings. If the car hadnt had so many other problem I might have looked into it lol.
