A/C vent

Ok, so on my 98 TA I Broke a piece of one of the a/c vents. So I went and ordered a new one. I tried to completely remove the old one, and most of it broke out, but there is still a little ring of it inside completely attached that swivels. What's the best way to get this out? Also, how are you supposed to remove the vents for cleaning?

Well, I guess i'll just go at it with a screwdriver then....part comes in tomorrow.

good luck, I always have to replace these due to braking them or someone else breks them. they are sorry and weak, maybe armor all makes them weak, but i'm tired of replacing them! that ring I broke out!
