4.3l TBI V6 related problem
I was wondering if you guys could help me. Last night I drove my 92 Chevy c/k1500 and about 15minutes into the drive( I was on I80 running 75mph) my truck started sputtering and then the voltage dropped to 9volts(it normally sits @ 14-15) and the the truck died. Its a 4.3l TBI V6 w/a 5spd tranny. I tried a new alternator today and no luck. It turns over and I get gas but no spark I guess. I also just replaced the stock coil pack with an ACCEL one(total time truck had it while operational is 1 month) and I just replaced the plugs the day it happened(yesterday) The truck has had temper issues prior to this ever since I seafoamed it about a month earlier. It would sputter and backfire like crazy everytime the gas is pressed. I was just wondering if you all could help me troubleshoot my issue b/c I could really use the help
Thanks
Nick

Well I replaced IN ALL the plugs, wires, coil(AGAIN),cap and rotor after all this she still wont start. I do get fuel though. And I hear the Fuel pump kick on but Im still not getting any spark. Everything is pugged in. if It was spring Id say the hell with it and put my 350 TBI in but its not YET and im just looking to get this thing running.
just an idea, but the last TBI I had run rough, not accelerate, no start at times was the ignition module in the distributer under the rotor.
You say you are getting fuel. Are the injectors spraying when you spin it over?

Need to check your fuel pressure a tbi needs 12-14 lbs of pressure to run. It wil still spray fuel through the TBI unit with less but not fire. It could also have low volume issues. As old as it is getting there is a rubber fuel line that runs from the pump to the sending unit in the tank and it may be split and bleeding off pressure.
