Worst Week of My Life ok so it all starts out with my whole undercarrage falling off my car (costed 2400 to repair) than the next day i get a flat in the most ghetto area and i have to leave it over night after trying to fix it in 45 degree weather for 2 hours. Than last night after church i go out and try to start my car and it doesnt start. I dont know what to do, when i twist the key all the way i can hear just one low click, it's not the battery because all my lights work and my radio turns on and my step dad tried jump starting it and it did nothing. Also it blinks security when i twist the key all the way. There might be a kill switch but the previous owner didnt tell us about any kill switch and i never switched it on. So than we try push starting it and it mutters a little bit than stops.
Does anyone know what the problem is and if so could you tell me how to fix it

Did you try starting it with a different key (if you have a second key)? Maybe there's something wrong with the metal chip in your current key. I've read about some VATS issues before, but I've never really followed what the fixes are.

ok so im going to the chevy dealership to get the key, are they going to tell me to get a certain number to get the right comp. chip, if you know could you tell me so i dont end up going back and forth to the dealership and my car which are on different sides of town
Bring your registration, and your drivers liscense. My bro gave me his registration to get him another key for his 06 Impala and they wouldn't give me a copy of the key because he wasn't present

oh and there is a way around VATS, do some searching here and you'll find a couple cheap and easy fixes. search bypass vats or similar.

Actually, the reason that he has to be present is because in some state its a law and most dealerships are required to copy the OWNERS drivers liscense and registration and keep it on file. If you don't have the copy and if they ask for it, then they will be fined and key copying or ordering rights will be revoked. You would be suprised at how many family members steal each others registration to get keys.

ok so i brought it to the dealership and it ended up being the key converter or something dealing with the thing that reads the chip. And i dont know how te differential cracked and the transmission and tranny came apart all i know was that i went to discount tire to get a set of tires, they didnt have it so i reversed out and than i heard something dragging from under my car and the whole thing just shut off and locked up and i looked under and there was green goop under the differential
measure the resistance of your key. get some resistors from radiosack ( that match the key's resistance) . find the two wires that run from your ignition lock cylinder, solder the resistors inline. see if that works.
