Default How long should belts last?

(Sorry - wrong sub-forum, please move to LS1 external engine)

I'm thinking about changing mine out since they're still the belts that came on the car. Slam away if need be, but what is the normal life of the belts on our cars?

The only reason I've ever heard to change seatbelts in a car is that it's been in a major accident. Apparently the stresses of impact weaken the belts. As far as I know, though, the factory seat belts should be good for a very long time if it's never been in a wreck. Unless they're visibly worn, I wouldn't worry about it.
