where is the PCV valve located on a 98?

where is the PCV valve located on a 98?

I plan on doing a minor tune up this weekend and want to know where it is instead of looking for it.

It's a little buldge in the PCV line running off the passenger side of the intake. It rests right on the upper most part of the valve cover (near where it meets the intake) about halfway back on the cylinder head. If it's the stock valve, you'll find it wrapped in foam. Inside the foam is a rubber boot. Inside the boot is the PCV valve.

Are you supposed to re-wrap it in foam?

Or can you just get rid of that part altogether?

No need for the foam. Mine's been off since I changed the stock valve back in early '05, no problems at all. Furthermore, the '99+ cars didn't get the foam, that's a '98 only thing. The '99+ also have the PCV valve/boot closer towards the throttle body.
