Default very high pitched noise from engine?

My car makes a very loud high high pitched whistling/squeeling noise....when i turn my AC on it goes away, and when i turn it off it takes a couple minuted but it slowly comes back. Also, when its cold out (52 to 54 degrees in the morning) it wont go away even if i turn the AC on, but it goes away when the car is warmed up and the AC still on.. Anyone have any idea what this could be??

the AC has its own belt. that might be it, the ac belt.

check all your fluids before you buy anything first.

It sounds a bit like the fan belt could be slipping. maybe.

Well, if you had the car - do a cold start and pull the AIR PUMP fuse under the hood to disable it - see if it goes off immediately. That would tell you if it was the pump. Might be a pully/tensioner too.
