Another solution (and slightly better) would be to pull from an area in front of the throttle body, but behind the MAF. This way, the air sucking into your crankcase, and eventually into you manifold, will be METERED by the MAF. It's not very much air, and probably won't make a difference though.
If you're going to run a PCV system, you really need that tube pulling air into the crankcase. If you don't have it, you'll basically be running a straight breather, but it will dump into the intake charge. The fresh air tube uses "fresh air" to help purge the crankcase of combustion gasses.
