Coolant leak maybe??
Ok so first of all the car that has the problem is a 94 escort. Im just wondering if anyone might be able to help me figure out what is wrong.
About a week ago my coolant light came on so I put a little bit in. This past thursday it came on again so I made sure to fill up the coolant tank thing. So today I was driving home and noticed the light came on again, and sure enough its low. Also, for the past week, I have been noticing a smell inside my car when driving that I thought kind of smelled like coolant. Im wondering what could be wrong. I dont see any puddles on the ground where I park my car. My dad said to check my oil to see if it looks wierd, he said maybe I bust a gasket and its leaking in with the oil. My oil looks normal to me. What do you think could be wrong?

Don't know much about Escorts really except I have faith in them saw once t boned at 80 MPH by a big old work van and the only thing that happened was the guy was shaken up. I know the trans am has a hole in the water pump that when it goes out it starts to seap out of? Maybe a rock or retread pricked a hose? Seems like you'd notice that though? A bad seal around a hose maybe wifes Honda once overheated causing a defect in a seal and was slowly leaking coolant. Good luck and hopefully this gives you somewhere to start.
