Backfire? I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so sorry if it isnt.
But anyway when i start my car in the morning it sounds like there is backfire when i shift gears. Its pretty cold here but it goes away after the motor warms up. I'll try to get a sound clip up if you guys wanna hear it.

the thing with the cutouts, isnt backfires...its how the fuel in these motors shuts off...its kinda of weird, but i have a cutout in a A4, and when you let off the gas, its kinda got a pop sound to it...its totally normal and its not a backfire

The backfires, when the engine is cold, is caused by the air pump pimping air into the exhaust system to help warm up the catalytic converters. Once the engine starts to warm up the pump turns off and the backfire sound stops. That happening is 100% normal

I knew it wasn't a backfire anyway. It's just a gurggely (that has to be a word!) noise. 
I have had one backfire when I tacked it out to almost redline and shifted. That's the one and only backfire I've had but I'm sure the cutout did not help that. It was minor.
