Windshield skratches Hi,
Is there a way to eliminate (or smooth) small skratches in the windshield?
Something like a paint polish, to rub on the surface?

Eastwood sells two kits for removing glass scratches. I bought the light scratch kit for about $30. It comes with a tub of polish and a hard buffing wheel. The wiper arm scratches got polished so there was no whiteness to them but they are still there, just clear now and when looking through them, there's a line of slight distortion. Same thing on my side window where the window guide had rusted and scratched wide areas.
It's a tedious and time consuming process not to mention a giant mess as the compound flies everywhere. I also had a tiny chip repaired for $45. A new windshield is about $220. If I had it to do over again I would just replace the glass because after the effort I still have something I'm not happy with.

Yes. I guess I want perfect instead of better. I think some would be satisfied with an improvement but I'm too **** with this sort of thing because I know it's not like new and if I think about it, it is right there in front of me to see.

Right on the money man the best thing to do is just replace the windshield! Buffing on glass is a bunch of b/s..

Rule of thumb with glass is similar to paint.....if you can't feel it with your fingernail it should polish out. If your fingernail catches it, most of the time it's there to stay.
