Yep, now that the Ultraguard Gold no longer comes in the UPF58 size, the Mobil 1 is the best filter out there. If you can score some leftover UPF58 stock from somewhere though, grab it! Those filters rocked, they filtered down to 8 microns and flowed extremely well.

what about K&N oil filters? I was under the impression they had a pretty good filter. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

It turns out the K&N is not the same as the Mobil 1 as we all previously thought. Yes they are both made in the same place, but the Mobil 1 filter has a higher content of synthetic filtering media, so it's a 10 micron filter. The K&N is more for higher oil flow so it's a 20 micron filter. The Bosch Premium is also made by the same guys and is a better choice than the K&N at a lower price.
