from what i have read using search, I can buy a ball joint tool that will remove the lower ball joint by pressing it out of the lca. do i use the same tool to press the new one in? I could not find a link with instructions on the actual pressing in/out of ball joint. my chiltons says to take the lower arm to a shop so they can do it. any advice is appreciated, thanx 94 firebird a4 5.7

Going out is easy. Support the lower arm close to joint, remove any snap-rings or fasteners and smack the ball joint out with a hammer. Of course in the correct direction for the pressed fit. A ball joint removal tool usually includes a couple of other attachments to allow for installation as well. I advise using the tool, although sometimes you gotta take it to the next level!
