bulb socket corrosion?

bulb socket corrosion? 97 trans am
front passenger blinker blinks when it wants to. i have replaced fuses and the bulb, but i noticed the socket had some brown stuff on it. i'm guessing corrosion. how do i clean it? and is the socket hard to replace?

ummm, yeah this is probably gonna happen to all f bodys at some point. the best thing to do is go to a restoration website like classicindustries.com for example they sale the socket with about 6'' of wire, all you do is splice them in to the existing wiring" make damn sure you use shrink wrap" or BAM same **** in a couple years lol

Word, you can get the sockets are Autozone. Just splice them in. The ones I installed(did both sides) had the same color of wires for each side, so I had to do one wire at once. No big deal though, went pretty quick. It was harder getting the shields out of the way under the bumper than actually splicing in the sockets.
Mine has been blowing bulbs in my drivers side blinker. I cleaned it and put more lube in there to prevent moisture in. And a new set of the housings. But have not blown a bulb since.
