Default Transplanting Engine

Can I hear from past experiences of taking out/putting in a new engine using the old fashioned through the hood method. What problems did you run into? Would you use that route again? Is it easier to transplant the motor from the subframe from the bottom of the car? I am asking because I think that it looks tougher to remove the subframe (and I probably wouldn't need a car lift if I put the engine through the top).

If you search it, you would come up with it is about the same time getting it out from the bottom then the top However, it takes 15 min from the bottom putting it back in compaired to the top (4 hours out, 3-4 hours in). taking it from the bottom is real simple, unhook and deatch wires/connecting things to the motor, undo the shock tower bolts and cross member bolts and lift it up.

Way easier to drop it out the bottom, it takes like 2 hors to get it out. I did it out the bottom and it is so frigign easy. i wouldnt even bother with trying to pull it through the top.

If you have access to a lift go out the bottom.
