oil pressure???
oil pressure??? alright i just changed my oil yesterday and when i went to cruise around the block it stayed consistantly above 40, then later on at night i stopped at a light and noticed that i dropped below 40 then when i gave it gas it would move up to 40 i used vr-1 sae 60 oil 6 quarts and there was no leaks tightend everything good is this something i should be worried about or nothing major???
how warm was ur engine when u changed it?...and 2 if u happen to be in ur LS1 most of the day ur oil pressure is gonna drop alittle...and 3 when u took from the light and it was barley over 40psi, look at ur rpms...its 10psi per 1000rpm...if ur managing to get that then ur fine...hell my car after 30min of drivin on a 80deg. day will idle around 37-40(and even lower if i have been racin) and go to 42-45 when i pull off.

Might as well pour gear lube in the motor.
Drain that stuff out and use a 0, 5, or 10 W30; or a 0 or 5 W40 of your choice.

It really doesn't matter what you use ... unless you go crazy and put something like 60 weight in it. I mean, gee. It says 5w30 right on the oil cap. weren't you worried? Honestly, drain that!Give the phone number of the AZ you went to and the name of the guy. Seriously, I want to call them just to ask what Kind of oil to use. Seriously.

thats crazy!!! I hate those guys at the parts counters that have not the slightest clue!!!! Not to bash.... but u did read the filler cap that clearly states 5-30? Yea u can change up a little but, 60 weight????
