Default mpg seems to have dropped

It has seemed to me like my mpg has dropped here lately so I checked my mpg tonight and i got 245 miles out of 13 gallons of gas. If my math is rite thats 18.8 miles per gallon which to me seems low. My car is a m6 with a slp flo pac and a lm exhaust and i've had them on for a while. Dureing this mpg test i drove a mixture of city and highway and only got on it like 2 or 3 times. Does it sound like my mpg is a little low to you guys?

actually that sounds almost right on the money since ur mixin the drivin between the highway and city, u have to be consiistent on the highway in order for u to gain the max

I am getting 16 mpg, at least some of you have access to 93 octane gas. In 'Kalifornia' it is only 91 with a bunch of add-ons like Techron and other bs.

Ditto, I get 15.7 mpg on an A4 with about 10% freeway. I used to get 22-25 if it was 80-100% freeway.

I baby it around quiet a bit so i was just figureing i should be getting better. I'll probably get some plugs and wires for it since i think the ones in it now are stockers and i'll check and clean my filter and see if that gets me any more mpg.

bad O2 sensors will destroy your mpg. i seafoamed my car and that ended up clogging the O2s from all the carbon buildup that came out the exhaust. I replaced them and my mpg went up significantly.

My car only has 33k miles on it. I hope my o2's haven't went bad. I've never seafoamed the car i'm sure that might help but i was worried about messin the o2's up.

You'll know if an O2 goes bad if the car starts idling erratically and the service engine soon light comes on.

The only time my car idles funny is when coasting at speeds of like 40 and above but when setting still it idles fine and my service engine light hasn't came on.

I'm curious about my mpg also...

I am about 200miles with 1/4 tank left. I haven't done a plug/wires swap so that's up next. I tend to shift like 2500-3000 so I am definitely killing mpg right now.

I find that the mpg for these cars is extremely sensitive to the type of driving you are doing.

This weekend I drove from South Bend, Indiana to Flint, Michigan, approximately 200 miles each way. I got over 25 mpg on the way to and back from Flint and kept my speed between 70-80 mph in 6th gear.

Now, in my day to day driving in stop-go traffic, 40 mph or slower, I never get over 15 mpg. I usually shift around 2000-2500 rpm.

So, as others have mentioned, you really need to do a long road trip to determine the true mpg IMO.
