Default C5:How to fill+purge brand new power steering pump/rack-Not working

After installing my 422 my PS wasnt providing any hydraulic assist-so I replaced Rack and power steering pump.

I just installed a new PS pump and rack. Do I need to let fluid bleed down to the rack at the fittings etc?

I know in the past you just take the wheel left to right several times to get air out. I ran the car at idle for a few minutes and the PS reservoir has not gone down yet.

I don't have any special vacuum tools for this type of work though as I have seen mentioned on power steering articles.

Bump. I may also need to know this.

I am trying to replace a leaking seal at ps rack. Any ideas on how to get the seal and bearing out?

I would let it gravity bleed down to all the fittings like you mentioned and then do the left to right to remove any air bubbles.
