Default Cleaned / Oiled Filter....Idle Problems???

I just cleaned and oiled a friends k&n filter for his 01 ss. After reinstalling the idle was jumping around / low oil pressure / engine sounded like it wanted to turn off. When I lightly touched my hand on his filter lots of oil came off. Im assuming he put too much oil on the filter and now the oil is on the maf? So I just need to reclean everything...use less oil and resinstall? Hopefully this didnt cause other problems? A fast response would me much appreciated.

Sounds like too much oil. Clean it and re-oil it. Also, let it sit a while before putting it back on the car. I don't remember how long though. The MAF probably needs to be cleaned too. Be careful though since its actually delicate.

CRC actually makes a MAF cleaner..you can get it at Napa auto parts..They claim its safer than using brake cleaner
