Default What to use on door jambs for a quieter door shut?

I was thinking of wrapping some type of soft foam material around the metal locks that stick out in the door jambs so when I shut the door it won't sound like metal slamming against metal. Any ideas on what kind of material to buy that will stick?

Dude, it sounds like there might be something wrong with your car, like a bad latch or something. I've owned four 4th gen f-bodies, and they've never sounded like metal against metal when slamming the doors. I doubt that wrapping something around the striker is going to fix the problem, it will probably be worn away after a slam or two.

Are your doors sagging? Crouch down and look at the bottom of the door and shut it slowly. Does it clear the frame ok? I don't think there is any noise that could be fixed just by putting something on the post for the latch. If the whole door just sounds clunky, try some dynamat inside the door.
