Which rack and pinion for WS6? Anyone have a WS6 VIN i can borrow?

Which rack and pinion for WS6? Anyone have a WS6 VIN i can borrow? I don't have my VIN on me (I'm in Florida) and my car is in the Cayman Islands, how do i know which rack and pinion if right for my car? NAPA and Disc Auto Parts says there are 2 differenct R&Ps one is firm and one is not. Is it safe to assume that the firm is the correct one for the WS6? I have a 99 WS6 6sp. Thanks.

Here's a solution for your VIN.
1. Do you have a copy of your insurance info and/or registration, it'll have your VIN on it.
2. Call your insurance company and get the vin from them.

There is the "performance" or tight lock rack and the other one is used on the V6's... I think... don't hold me accountable though, I think all LS1 V8's had the same Rack and pinion but the WS6's got a P/S cooler.

That is true.... I just replaced the rack and pinion in my 99 T/A WS-6, but I had a choice of parts that were used. I decided to get the tight ratio steering gear. It seems to work without a problem, and it doesnt wander as bad as it used to.
