RPM range?

It seems to me that my car is idling high. It's around 1k in park and 850 in drive.Does this sound right? It's an Automatic.Thanks

Its pretty close to mine and my car runs great.I think mine idles around 1K in park, for a bit then drops down a couple hundred in drive.I also have an auto.Was it just buggin you,or do u think somethin is really wrong with your car?

That seems a little higher than mine, it's about 800 or so in park once it's warmed up, and a little lower in drive. First thing to check for with high idle is a vacuum leak, of course. Pop the hood and listen for a hiss. Brake booster line, PCV line etc...

once warm ,my car is around 800 in park and 550-600 in drive. sounds kinda high to me. does it rev up and down while parked? if it stays stable, you may want to consider seafoaming the car.

i just noticed you have an LT1, right? maybe that doesn't apply. still seems a little high in my book. the only cars i've seen that idle at 1k in neutral are 4 bangers.

I was kinda goin on a dead cold start.It idles high for about 20-30secs around 1k then drops to 800-900 after it reaches a closed loop.Ill have to go check how low it really is under normal op. temp.

Thanks for the replies. It seems at times that the whole car shakes and then idles down.It does this when in normal operating mode.I adjusted the screw just a little and it idles around 800 in park when warm and 550-600 in drive.
