Default sqeaking coming from the back!

hi, i hear squeaking coming from the back everytime i hit ghetto roads or hit bumps. i'm pretty sure it's from inside the car like behind the passenger side or center of the back. but the noise could possibly be from outside, not too sure, but maybe. i have no idea what it is!! its so annoying! i had that noise 6 months ago and it just went away, and now its back. please help. Thanks...

my 02 TA is full of noises. def put the rear seat down and drive it. thats a realy common squeak! if thats it, mess w/ the locks/latches for the seat. i noticed also w/ the stock rear bushings (lower arms, PHB ect) a noise would go away after going through a car wash. try those things first. im betting its the rear seat though.

Yeah, my seat did that till I greased the pivot points. I also had a smaller squeak coming from the jack, even tho it was clamped down tight. I put duct tape between it and the body to get rid of it.

i put the seats down and it still squeaked. i figured it out though, it was the spare tire, the screw was not tight enough. so i tightened it. and i must say i feel pretty accomplished today. thanks guys

Did you check the tire pressure while you were in there? I need to remember to check mine one of these days.

It could be the rear sway bar bushings. Spraying silicone spray does not help either. I had the same problem and when I replaced the bushings it went away.

I wanted to necro this thread to help people looking for ideas.

For a month I had a squeak coming from inside the hatch area and it was driving me insane. It was detrimental to my overall well being. I tried tightening my spare, my jack, put electrical tape over the studs that the folding rear seat clips into, everything.

One 3AM night i got out of bed and was destined to find it once and for all.

It ended up being the JACK WRENCH. The jack itself was so tight that i'll need a breaker bar to get it out, but the wrench isnt attached to the jack very firmly at all, especially if you've used it a lot in the past. I saw evidence of the wrench digging into the metal of the floor (through the rubber coating). In the stock position the wrench is going to be practically free floating right on top of metal.

Hope that helps, didnt see this mentioned in any other threads and wanted to share my experience.

I have the same problem but I don't have a spare or jack in my car. I think it might be the hatch window shocks like someone stated above. My car isn't running as of now, but once its back on the road I need to look at it.

I just went through this. It's got to be your sway bar bushings. I went over everything from A-Z. Take them off and grease them really good. The spray wont cut it. It's been so hot that the rubber is dry.

That's some funny **** there. Glad you got it figured out. Mine start squeaking about two weeks ago. It's driving me nuts! To deal with it I just turn the radio up.
