Default HELP with SES light????!!

When I got in my car today to go get gas the Service Engine Soon light was on and I drove it to get gas anyways.

When I got home dad and I drove it to autozone to get a diagnostics check and they determined the code P0442.
They said the EVAP (Evaporative Emission System) has a small leak/no flow condition.

The probable causes they gave me was:
1. A defective of loose fuel cap- checked it and it was fine.
2. EVAP canister or hose cracked-not connected
3. Purge or vent solenoid defective
4. Vacuum leak at engine

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this might be, how big of a problem it could be, and how to fix it?

Thanks

Also when listening to it with the hood up at idle every 15 seconds there was a clicking sound coming from the top of the valve cover from one of the first 2 valves on the right side looking at it.

Any help is appreciated

Buddy of mine had P0442, after replacing the fuel cap the code kept coming back. He ended up bringing it to a shop and they pressurized the EVAP system with smoke in order to find it. Repair was easy, finding the leak was the pain. More P0442 info here: www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic9136.php

How exactly did you check the gas cap?

I broke down and took it to the dealership.

They ran the smoke test and it turns out that there is something loose or broke above the gas tank and they are wanting $350 to pull the rear end to get to the top of the gas tank. Im actually thinking about looking for myself.

Does anyone have directions on how to remove the rear and gas tank?

Thanks
