i was driving to work today and my car started smoking. i wasnt racing or speeding, just driving like normal. I pulled over and popped my hood. the front of the motor was smoking by the water pump, and it was leaking water. i am praying that this is just the water pump. later on, i started it, and it had oil pressure, and would drive, but made a loud whining sound. I had to limp it to the shop to get fixed tomorrow. let me know what you think it is. thanks guys

I'm guessing the loud whining noise is your belt squeaking from the leaking from your water pump. Yeah, I believe your water pump is out...

was it smoke or steam? if it was steam then you already have your answer, smoke then you have problems of a whole different world. you will probably smell antifreeze if its the pump

def smelled antifreeze. where is the cheapest place to get a good water pump

thanks for the help guys, i just changed it today, and now its running great. took about 5 hours by myself taking my time
