power steering leak?

power steering leak? well about a month ago a mechanic came over my house to replace my altenator cause i didnt have time do it myself. wen he was done he said my rack and pinion has a small leak. the funny thing was wen i bought the car like a month ago it wasnt leaking from wen i looked at it. i looked under it today and dosnt look like the rack and pinion is leaking but somthin above it and just under the container for the PS it seems to be leaking. any1 have an idea what it is? and if its the rack and pinion what do u think the cost is to fix it?
