Default What's this wire?

Needless to say, i still haven't gotten in contact with the previous owner of my car, but i've found some things lately that have left me with some questions again... So yesterday i decided to fix the carpet lining on the passenger side, and that required me to take off pretty much the console to cram it back under and rebolt it.. after 30 minutes i finally get the sucker off and find a hidden button in my ashtray with 2 gray wires.. I didnt have the camera at the time and the photos are limited but the grey wires connect to the button in the ashtray. One wired to the front of the car through the side of the console and connected at.. here

I dont know if those are clear enough, but regardless... the other wire goes to a huge snake coil of wiring directly under the console, which is just about 5 extra feet of wiring and then it goes underneath the carpet to the back. I believe this is a custom job but i'm not 100% accurate, if anyone has some information i'd be much obliged.

Yeah sounds like some kind of wiring for a remote bottle opener/n20 stuff. Try and trace it under the carpet? Look in the spare tire well and see if there are any wires going there...

Here we go, i dug up all that console **** and gave the wire a tug, seeing as how it didn't really feel like it was freshly connected or giving much resistance to being pulled on.. and here are some more pictures..

Ashtray

wiring from the button

And this is what i pulled up

Any ideas?
