A/C Pressure Gauge A/C stopped working altogether recently (ie. the compressor does not kick on) so my first thought was that maybe it was lacking freon. Bought one of those gauge/recharge hoses and put it on the low side fitting. The gauge reads zero (0) off the car, but when it's reading the system the needle jumps all the way past 100 (off the charts). What am I doing wrong? With that sort of behavior you would think I have it on the high side, but it's not. Any suggestions?

About 90* ambient the STATIC pressure should be around 100 psi. The low side pressure drops when the compressor comes on. Don't think you're doing anything wrong, sounds like a compressor/electrical problem? I'd check fuses/make sure you're getting voltage to the compressor when the switch is on. Don't think you're problem is low referigerant.
i spent three days trying different things to get my compressor to work. I ended up making a switch to it so now when i turn my a/c on i flip an extra switch after i get the fans going. also if you end up doing this make sure you turn it off before you go WOT.
