A/C blows hot

Hey guys, when I turn the AC on, the compressor blows air, it just comes in at outside temps. Not cool when its about 100* outside. Low Freon?? if so, how do i replace it?? Is there something else I could be missing?

More than likely you are low on freon, does the compressor come on at all? If not you are probably low on refrigerant. You fill it on the low side of the A/C line, R-134 has 2 different size fittings so you can't mix them up when adding R134.

The compressor comes on. When refilling, am I supposed to have the compressor on when refilling??? A/C newb here

I'm not sure how you do it exactly with the little cans. I know from when I worked in a shop that had the AC machine you do it with the engine off.

no when you are filling from cans you are suppose to have the engine running and at set the A/C to MAX A/C, also you fill it with the can upside down.
edit: make sure you don't overfill it.

Overfilling is very bad..they have a bottle for people with out a license that comes with a gauge to tell you how much needed and danger of overfilling.

^^^ you don't have to have a license for 134, only if you are working in a shop. For the home DIY you don't have to have a license. Only to buy R-12 and R-22.
