A/C compressor woes.....
A/C compressor woes..... I got a new A/C compressor to install....and am having difficulty.
How am I supposed to get the compressor out? I am not seeing how.........
I also completly sheerd one of my sockets trying to get the tension pulley out from underneath

Take the sway bar off and this is a 2 hour job absolute max. 4 bolts on the compressor. One nut on the lower condensor. One bolt at the drier.
What does sheerdone mean? I just use a deep socket on the tensioner. Push the tensioner in on the bolt and slip the belt off. Takes about 30 seconds. You don't even have to take the main belt off as you as just swapping the compressor.

Use the tensioner pulley to take off the belt, then 4 bolts on the compressor, and one in the back of it I think. I had no idea what I was doing but I was able ot figure it out. BUT don't forget to replace your accumulator/drier and orifice tube when you replace the compressor... it's only like 30 bucks and 2 bucks for an orifice tube. A lot of compressors lose their warranty if you don't replace it at the same time along w/ the orifice tube in the liquid line (thin line that runs by the battery). For 32 bucks I suggest you do it, it can't hurt and it'll save you trouble in the long run from posssible premature compressor failure.
