Default Headlights coming up whenever parking lights are on.

My 98 TA just started doing this, when ever the keyless entry is used the headlights pop up and go back down. If i turn the headlight **** to parking lights, they pop up and stay up. Before they would only go up when the headlights are turned on and then stay up when the switch is turned back to parking lamps. I had a right front driving/parking light burnt out so i figured that is where the problem came from, but after replacing the parking light it is still doing it. At the same exact time the right side headlight motor is grinding only when the lamp is lowered all the way. I am going to take the motor out and inspect the gears. Are these items related? Any ideas?

Gears. Yes they are related. Replace/fix gear, lights will operate normally.

I dotn think this is a headlight motor issue, sounds more like a eletrical / DRL issue. The Canadian Pontiac F-body's headlights would come up if memory serves me right. The US Pontiac F-bodys have the same DRL module it is bypassed though I think.

Both of mine did this...they use plastic gears from the factory...replace them with metal ones the and it should fix the problem!
