Default nitrogen in tires. Pretty cool

http://www.getnitrogen.org/pdf/Bridgestone.pdf

http://www.getnitrogen.org/why/index.php

I'm sure most of you guys know about this. Interesting reading. I hope I can get this done in my car, just sounds cool if nothing else lol.

I only found one or 2 old threads on this and thought I would see who is running it now. And give you some info to read up there in the pdf.

I run the nitrogen in my tires. The only thing I've noticed is if it gets too hot, you'll need to drop a couple psi out of each, otherwise it's fine.

I was hoping that no one on this site was stupid enough to fall for this scam... The only reason race cars use it is because it contains less moisture so they don't gain as much pressure as if they were just filled with air, but they still gain pressure. And were talking tires that are 175+ degrees, street cars will never get close that.

well as for nitrogen, i know we use it in aircraft tires because it doesn't expand or contract much if at all with changes in altitude, but aircraft go a little higher then most cars i think, don't quote me on that tho.

Check your facts, most places now charge to get air, if your buying a set of tires ok, those places dont charge but most gas stations now days do...sorry to say.

Me, I just carry a small compressor around with me. Started doing that after some stations around me started charging a friggin dollar for air. Screw that.

I agree with you about the small air compressor. I also carry an air gage because I don't trust the gage on those little compressors. Be using a tire gage, I can be sure that the pressure is the same in the all of tires. I also check the tire pressure often (and do it while the tires are cold) to keep the tire pressure consistently correct.

Don't race cars use nitrogen too. I think it will help you know one day its 70 and the next day is 30 you could lose some psi in your tires, and this effect would be much less with Nitrogen I would think.

I got a small compressor at K mart. One time fee of $40. Paid for itself by now I guess.

Agreed. The only real reason I can think of that any car tire might benefit from nitrogen in the tires is if you had some classic or rare tires on it and were going to store the car. Your car is not an airplane where the moisture might freeze and thaw several times a day. Dry air is important in planes. But, hey, if it makes you feel good....
