Default Windshield Wipers

My windshield wipers are working sparatically. They dont always return to correct point .They rarly will work on any delay. on almost any setting they rund either slow speed or fast. but again they might stop in middle of windshield. I notice the control for wipers (on steering wheel) is a little lose but I would Imagine this is a motor that needs replaced?

Just looking for some guidance before i go buy one.

car is a 2000 ws6 TA M6

I would suggest this is a control issue. When the wiper is commanded to return to initial position, (turning them off) they must go down to the bottom of the windshield. The other anomalies also indicate the same.
Not sure what you are intending to buy, but it seems that the motors are working; but the commands to the motors are mucked up.

The steering column stick is merely a switch. It sends the on/off/intermittent signals to a control box. This control box then commands the wipers to perform the correct actions.
I have a Haynes for my LT1, its wiring diagram shows 3 boxes:
Low speed relay
Park relay
Solid state (this is the control box) - If the diagrams are correct, this generic box called solid state is your problem. (I hate Haynes, btw). It controls all the functions of the wipers, slow, park, etc.

Take off the cowl and dig around in there. Sounds like one of the pins going into the motor is bend. That would cause that kind of action.

Try disconnecting the washer fluid pump electrical connector and see if the wipers work the way they should.

some late model GM vechials have a pulse board that is located in the motor. this could be your problem. on those you can buy just the pulse board or you can buy the motor with the new board and a warrenty. you might talk to your local dealer to find out which style you have. i'd be willing to bet that the control module that he is talking about is in the motor.
